TRAINEE #3

ARE YOU READY FOR A CHALLENGE?

Every day is game day at WS WeSports Group.

We are looking for the next star to join our team – someone who will push boundaries, challenge us to improve, and help us perform better every day. But most importantly, eager to learn and grow.

  • We are building the leading sports equipment specialist in northern Europe.

    • Founded in 2020

    • SEK 3.1 BN turnover

    • ~40 acquisitions.

  • The foundation of our rapid growth is strategic acquisitions within the sports vertical. As a specialist serial acquirer, we create unique opportunities to drive industry transformation and be at the forefront of a market makeover.

  • We go to work like athletes go to practice - relentlessly building better businesses. Through extensive business development, we drive organic growth and continuously push the limits of what’s possible.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As a trainee at WeSports Group, you will join a fast-growing, publicly listed retail group at the center of its expansion journey. Working closely with group management, you will have the opportunity to take part in live M&A processes and business development initiatives across the group, often working at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology. From day one, you will gain hands-on experience in building and scaling billion-SEK businesses in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment, making this an exceptional stepping stone for those looking to develop a career in M&A and business.

We are looking for candidates who are about to graduate or have recently graduated with a BSc or MSc in business, engineering or a related field. This is a full-time position starting after summer 2026, for a duration of one year.

PROFILE

We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals who are eager to take on new challenges and consistently exceed goals. You may come from a business, finance or M&A-oriented background – or from a more technical or engineering-focused field – but share a strong interest in how companies are built, scaled and optimized. You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are excited by the opportunity to create value through acquisitions and organic growth. You are also comfortable taking on a wide range of tasks, seamlessly shifting between high-level strategic work and detailed, hands-on execution, and approach this with a pragmatic, open mindset and a strong willingness to learn.

  • Strong ability to manage high workloads and concurrent projects

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and an interest in other digital tools, including AI

  • A strong academic record

  • Fluency in Swedish and English (additional languages are a plus).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Participate in M&A activities, including sourcing, financial analysis and due diligence, while gaining valuable insights from senior decision-makers

  • Lead and contribute to business development projects at both the group level and within group companies

  • Be a key part of an ambitious growth journey, with significant opportunities for personal and professional development

  • Work closely with Group COO Niklas Hammar, who leads the trainee program together with Group CEO Ted Sporre, while also taking on project-based placements within group companies.

location

WeSports Group’s main office is located in central Malmö, and the Stockholm office was established during 2025.

We welcome applications from candidates based in Malmö or Stockholm, with a willingness to relocate temporarily to different business units as needed. While we prefer candidates who have already graduated, we remain flexible on this requirement.

TRAINEE #1

Trainee #1 - August Höglund

During his trainee year, August worked hands-on with business development and M&A projects, taking on significant responsibility and autonomy under the guidance of senior management. This was complemented by his participation in senior management discussions and high-level business meetings, providing him with firsthand insights typically gained only after years of experience.

He reflects:

“The perspectives I’ve gained from engaging in high-level strategic discussions early in my career have given me a deeper understanding and maturity beyond my years. Additionally, working closely with both senior group management and subsidiary CEOs on hands-on projects has significantly accelerated my personal and professional development.”

Toward the end of his trainee period, August successfully led a geographical expansion project for the subsidiary Cargobike of Sweden, showcasing strong leadership and execution skills. His contributions and ability to drive business initiatives led to his appointment as COO of the company.
